New hack cracks 'secure' Bluetooth devices

"Cryptographers have discovered a way to hack Bluetooth-enabled devices even when security features are switched on. The discovery may make it even easier for hackers to eavesdrop on conversations and charge their own calls to someone else’s cellphone."

So is bluetooth safe?

Sure...until proven other wise...that's what makes the world go round...one man advances technology...the next man comes up with a way to use the technology for no good...and bingo...technology needs to be advance again...nothing is fool proof...or idiot proof for that matter...;)

nothing's EVER safe... no matter how much you may think it is, there's alway some hacker out there waiting to make it NOT.

Bravo to the person that discovered this security flaw. Now we await the advance in Bluetooth security.

Yes... if it's there, someone will hack it. It's always just a matter of how long before it's hacked. Now they'll just find a way to increase the security, and the average Joe still has nothing to worry about. :)

Hackers make me so sick. Anyone hear about that new virus that even spreads to cell phones? I dont think we need to panick over the bluetooths but we do need to be careful and ever watching the developments. I wonder how many bluetooth users DONT know about this.

probably a lot - there's not been much press on this from what I've seen.
