Wireless keyboard for text messaging

Does anyone here actually use one of them, or not? They're to make texting easier, but really, with some practice it's easy enough to get the hang of texting without pulling out a wireless keyboard for help!

Would you like to explain that a bit more ??

I wasn't aware there are wireless keyboards made for mobilep phones.

Perhaps what Hannah is referring is that some people might be so fond of texting to the extent of desiring a wireless keyboard so that they could type well and do the texting fast with the 10 keys rather than just the 4 keys... am I right, Hannah?

I guess that would be good for so hardcore phone user. I wouldn't want to carry a keyboard with me.

It's something like this that I was looking at: http://www.nokiausa.com/nokia_access...:SU-8W,00.html

Ah ok, thanks for clearing that up Hannah.

Before now, I didn't know such a thing existed. I think it's a cool idea, but that's for a hardcore "texter". I imagine a hardcore "texter" would just purchase a SideKick or a Smartphone with a keyboard.

I did not even know that they had those and I would never use one becasue I do not text that much I mean some people may love one of those.

those look very similar to the keyboards you can get for your PDA. I would imagine that you would have to be big into texting to purchase one of those. I am not into texting but I can't see myself ever buying one.

I think if i texted a lot more than I do, i would invest in one of the keyboards just as a time saver. But for right now, I'm doing just fine hacking along without an expensive board.

I never knew about them until now. I don't really need them, I'm pretty fast on my phone. I practiced a lot, thanks to my GF. :)

Yeah Eric3858, it does look very much like the keyboards you can get for your PDA. With technology moving towards mobile, I'm wondering if such a keyboard will become a nifty tool. Instead of punching things into your BlackBerry using the tiny keys while sitting somewhere like a plane, an airport or something, and plug in the keyboard instead.

Might be nice for people who take notes during meetings too and have to type it all up later on a PC and send them out. You could type the notes on your handheld without killing your fingers, and then send the document as you walk out the door.

Yup, I think this is definately the way it is moving. It's nice to be able to type on a keyboard like accessory because we are all used to it with our computers. I think the only problem is that some people might not want to carry around an extra keyboard with their phone or blackberry.

I use a PDA phone. To be honest you eventually get used to the keyboard, besides whihch it also has handwriting recognition.

never heard of these things. but they sounds fairly pointless to me...I can text just fine on the keypad :)
