11 . A simplified activation process Version 4.1 gets round the drawback of the need for a 'cradle' to activate a device. A simple password now leads to activation, with no need for the user to be involved further in the activation process. Hundreds of new users can be brought online with everything managed centrally. In the old days, if a user required to connect a new BlackBerry immediately whilst on the road, perhaps having lost the old one, then the new device would need to be brought first into head office for cradling. A user can now buy a new device, phone the admin for the password, and get working right away.
