I'm looking for a new phone, and quite like the looks of "Slide" phones, meaning the ones that slide the front away to reveal a keyboard underneath. I've included a screenshot to give you an example of what I mean.

I was just wondering if you guys knew of any good Slide Phone for under £100. I'd prefer it to be on 02 and available in a Black colour if possible, but I guess it's not essential. I really don't know where to start when looking for this type of phone, and I want to try & get the best deal I possibly can, so hopefully you guys will be able to help me out, as I don't want to jump in & buy the first phone I find. I've seen a few around, but don't know if they're overpriced or are the best deal I can get for the price I'm willing to pay.

I'd appreciate some help, many thanks guys.

Which Mobile Phone Should I Purchase?

http://www.phoneforums.org/phones/125071-mobile-phone-should-i-purchase.html

Having recently lost my mobile phone (Nokia 2720) I'm in need of a new phone. What I'm looking for is listed below:

- On 02 Network.
- Pay As You Go, NOT contract.
- Decent/clear quality camera.
- Bluetooth.
- Black coloured.
- Price Range between £20 - £70 (Although I'd rather NOT pay up to £70, but if the phone is nice looking & I like it, I may stretch to that price).
- Ability to connect to the PC to transfer songs/pictures etc.

And that's pretty much it to be honest. I purchased the Nokia 2720 as it looked rather stylish & was Black coloured which I like my phones to be, but to be honest when it arrived I was disappointed as it felt rather flimsy and seemed as if it'd easily break if I were to drop it or handle it a little bit roughly.

I pretty much use my mobile phones for texting, ringing people, "occasionally" using the camera & "occasionally" using the Bluetooth feature for putting songs on my phone etc. I'm not really into phones like the iPhone, Blackberry etc, as I don't feel I'd get much use whatsoever out of all the different features etc that they have, so I'm just looking for a simple yet stylish phone which can do all the features I've listed above. I also don't really use the Internet features on mobile phones so that's not essential, although obviously if the phone has that feature & it's in my price range, it's an added bonus. Another reason I purchased the 2720 was because it was a "flip" phone, as I quite like them, but this isn't essential whatsoever though.

What do you guys recommend? I'd appreciate hearing what you guys advise.

Thanks in advance.

Call recording on business phone?

http://www.phoneforums.org/phones/124966-call-recording-business-phone.html

Hi,

My Nokia E71 has died and I'm looking for a replacement, but I'm having a hard time to find something that behooves my main requirement (which I think is not extravagant).

The most important thing for me is the ability to record phonecalls, and automatically is strongly preferred. I'm a small business entrepreneur and this feature is just indispensable for me in my workflow.
I have used VoxTrack for S60 Symbian on the E71 which worked perfectly.

As the E71 is EOL I'm scouting around for phones and have found that there are no solutions for Blackberry or Android (several apps claim to do so, but user experience indicate that it is just not possible). I've read that it is possible for Windows Mobile, but can not find any apps to automate it (perhaps someone knows of one?). I don't have a problem with Symbian, but if there's something better out there I'm willing to try it.

Being a smartphone is not even really necessary. A feature phone that can do auto call recording and regular multiaccount email is good enough for me (IMAP/POP), but qwerty-keyboard and Wifi are almost necessities nowadays.

Any tips and comments are appreciated!

I know that this is a slightly odd request, but I'm hoping that somebody here will be able to make a recommendation =) I'm looking for a dual-sim, dual standy phone (I'm self employed, so I prefer carrying one phone around with both numbers (personal and work) rather than having to struggle with two seperate phones). Now, I know that there are loads out there, but I'm looking for something reliable and easy to text with. The main requirement however is that I'd also like it to have a decent camera / video recorder. I currently own an N21 Sciphone which is dual sim and also has a 5mp camera but if there's anything out there which is better alternative that anyone knows about I'd love to see. To say that the N21 sciphones are rarer than hen's teeth right now is an understatement. Thanks in advance! =)

i was under the impression that smartpones were really for the business person on the go, who needed to have the most up to date info at any given moment, be able to find directions to anywhere at the touch of a screen and so on.

what have we created!?

Im looking for a specific video capture

Hi all, the most important thing I need is a good video capture. The best phone I ever had was the nokia n95 which handled audio brilliantly. I have just upgraded to my first new smart phone (samsung galaxy) and have just had a song of ours recorded at a gig and the quality is absolutely appalling. Is there anyway of finding a new smartphone out there with exactly the same video as the nokia n95?

1st clip is recorded using my 3 year old nokia n95: (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzQie8FyIvA)

2nd clip using samsung galaxy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miihCzjQ_to)

The difference is huge! The nokia is clear and retains clarity and bass. The samsung simply can not handle any of it. The conditions were similar in terms of recording conditions.

I have had the Samsung 5 days and would like to excercise my statatuory rights if there is a smart phone out there with the video quality of the nokia n95.

How do I find out what spec was responsible for such superior recording?

Thanks in advance Image: http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

Hi All,

I'll bet this has been asked before but I'don't know where - so here goes...

I have an old Nokia phone that does wap - must be about 6 years old at least - obviously it doesn't have a full keyboard.

I thought a smartphone that I could download and use apps on would be a good replacement but:-
1. would a reasonable one for payg be very expensive ?
2. would using apps that use the web or wifi be costly too - hence the pushing of contacts rather than payg - I would like to use the sat nav functions if poss - isn't google free for sat nav?

I can't get enmeshed in a contract - I suspect that the monthly fee would only be the start and payment would follow after use ... which could mount up without me realising etc.

Thanks, Roy
