I have the all new Dell Streak, for those of you guys who've never heard of it before. The Dell Streak, promises to be the latest Smart Phone on the market today, with a 5 inch screen, full on tv capabilitis, using youtube and the BBC. The phone recieved a text yesterday morning offering me to upgrade from Android 1.6 to Android 2.1 Upon recieving this message, I promptly took the invitation after being advised that the phone is more than powefull enough and Android are just making amendments to ensue it works ok with Dell (at the time of purchase, 1 month ago, or so at the o2 shop).
The problem is now, that all my music is un-retreavable and the music player doesn't recognise any of the music files AT ALL. Following that, I went back in to the market and looked for alternative music systems (selecting two and having to pay for1 of them), to which none have worked. Now, I,m stuck and want to play my music. Please can someone help. Thanks...

Does anyone know where the companies that sell these numbers actually get them from, in order to sell on? I assume that somewhere there must be a massive database of all available numbers waiting to be issued, and then somehow the companies must have access to this.

Does anyone have any ideas how this works?

Nokia ovi maps on x6

http://www.phoneforums.org/extras/124528-nokia-ovi-maps-x6.html

Hi all I'm getting really frustrated with this piece of junk X6. Everything disapoints me about this phone and its no surprise that when I try out the Ovi Maps Satellite Navigation for the first time, it fails me in very much the same way as every other application does.

The interface is terrible! The options I want aren't there, and theres no back button or undo, so if I press the wrong button by mistake I have to start all over.

So to explain my problem, firstly I do not understand which of the options I need to use for me to get from point A to point B (e.g from home to an address I do not know the way to).
There is;
-My position
-Search
-Share location
-Favourites
-Drive
-Walk

So I'll work through them
-My position. This seems to work but yet in a way the Nokia thinks it doesn't. I click "my position", and it opens up an overview map, and instantly finds my street and marks my address with a grey circle. However in the top bar it still says "searching for position" and has the flashing red loading icon, as though it needs time to search. I stood outside today for over 15 minutes waiting for it to stop searching and loading, seeing as though it had already found me, but it just keeps "searching for position". I don't understand. Has it or has it not found me? I haven't told it my address, so it must have found my position as its showing my street on the screen, yet it still remains stuck with this uninformative "searching for position" banner.

So I'll go back to menu and describe the next option
-Search
I click search and enter the postcode of my employer. It finds the postcode, so I click it. Immediately it shows it on the map with the overhead view, but again it remains on "searching for position" even though it has clearly found it!

-Favourites
I go to the option "places" and it comes up with a postcode about 30 minutes drive away from my home. I never added this postcode to favourites (and I bought this phone from new) but apparently it is a favourite despite it holding no relevance to me. For the moment I'll ignore the the fact that I can't delete this favourite and I'll click the postcode. It has options, "show" "drive to" etc. I click "drive to" to see if it can take me there, you know, like a sat nav SHOULD DO. I click it, it pans accross to the address of the postcode but still says "waiting for GPS". I can't understand this, it clearly knows my location as it has showed me, and it clearly knows the favourited destination. So where's the problem? Why cant it use the two addresses that it has found and create a route out of it and direct me? I tried this a couple of times earlier today just in case the GPS couldn't get signal, I was outside, and later in my car and did not once get GPS. So useless again.

-Drive
This is the option I assumed would take me from point A to point B. So I click drive and it has 3 options "drive home" "set destination" and "map". I click "set destination" and set it to a new postcode of my friends house. It shows an overhead map of my friend's address, but again "waiting for GPS". I sat in my car after work waiting for the GPS to show me the way. But no it failed to do that.

Ok so instead I'll exit that and try "drive home". This moves the map into Leeds! I live in Manchester North England, so if you aren't familiar, Leeds is a long way away. I don't know how this is home. I don't know why it hasn't asked me to define the address of home.

Any thoughts? I have updated the firmware a number of times and it never improves any of the buggy, freezing applications this phone has. How can I just reset the sat nav, as it has for some reason stored a number of locations that have absolutely nothing to do with me.

Additionally if there are any other X6 users reading this, then is how do you set a route? From startup what buttons do you press? Seeing as though Nokia dont want to make a usable interface I have no idea. I need sat nav for Thursday, with my old Sat Nav (that got stolen) I used to simple switch on, and enter destination. I'd be moving in under 5 minutes. Simple as that I could then just follow the voice instructions. With this X6 though I have no idea whether I'm meant to store locations etc. I certainly doesn't seem to be pick-up-and-go which kind of defeats the purpose of sat nav.

Thanks for reading.

Good morning to all of you.

My requiest is quite simple. I'm French, living in France at the moment, but I've planned to move to England at the end of september and I was looking for a sim card not to be off of communcation when I'm arriving there.
My question is : Is it possible for me to buy a UK sim card while I'm still in France ? If yes, which provider would be able to do that ?

Regards.

Cuchulainn

PS : sorry if my discussion is not in the appropriate forum.
