Mobile applications

Okay. I have a question:

What would you like to do on your mobile device that you can only do on your desktop or laptop computer?

Is there any application, or applications, that you'd like for your mobile device that is only available on a desktop or laptop computer?

First thing that comes to mind for me is book browsing, or purchasing from Amazon.com and it's possible this is done already. I'm curious. Is there anything you can't do on a mobile device? Or is there room to make mobile applications better?

I would love to be able to play runescape on my mobile phone, i have managed to look at the website, but i can't actually play the game because it involves too many controls.

You can do all of that (I'm almost positive) with a Treo 650 & 700.

Sounds like enhanced browser capability and games is what people would like. So how would one go about doing that?

The thing I can think of is some major advances in Blackberries that include keypads with game controls or something, but that might run into a size issue. Then again, if you can get a phone with iTunes, why can't you get a mobile device with good graphics for games?

Photoshop on a mobile device would be interesting. Something like the Nintendo hand-helds that are out where you can sketch and IM other people. You could do wonders with Photoshop, or something similar.

Are we talking mini computers now?

Yeah, but if it too accessorized, it would become a mini laptop and not be a mobile any more.

You've got a point, however, laptops have a full keyboard..usb ports...cd drive..I don't really get how you could use photoshop on a phone. What would be the point anyway?

doodling on the cell phone.. I love it

I've got a friend who takes his blackberry with him everywhere so that he can use ICQ and AIM to keep in chat with online friends while he commutes (by train, not car!)

Yep...the proverbial train has left the station...we want more, we want faster, we want better...we want the Swiss army Knife of cell phones...press the pound key twice to open the garage door...voice activate to pre-heat oven while driving home...press 666 to activate your DVD recorder...oh and you got a call from mom in your voice mail box...
