SE K601i sim unlock
hi,
i have purchased a Sony Ericsson K610i on the orange network (pay monthly) It is locked to the orange network. Any ideas of how it can be unlocked/simfree? I ve tried the unlock guys in the phoneshops but they say it cant be done yet.

It can be done ...check out Unlock Blackberry, Motorola, Samsung, Nokia Codes - UniquePhones They'll probably offer you some advice and/or services on how to do it. Good luck!

Generally it can take time for the standalone cellfone shops to aquire the software unlock codes.
Its up to you but I will not try online shops offering codes/cables/discs for a fee. You could speak to Orange who would supply the code if your contract is up and for an admin fee. A point to note is that Carfone Warehouse supply all their handset unlocked wether they are contract or payg.
