Anyone know what this command is doing??

Years ago when I still used a Nokia 3210 I was shown a setup which I was told would detect radar speed checks ahead, distance not specified. (This is in the UK) It had to be set up on Vodafone or Cellnet phones, which use the 900MHz band, and was done by going into settings, security settings, closed user group and entering the code 00000, ok, exit. After a few seconds, a little radioactive type symbol would appear on screen, and allegedly, the phone would give a text alert sound if it detected a speed check ahead, which used a similar frequency range.

I never came across a speed check while trying it to confirm it worked, and it doesn't seem to be an option on later phones. Anyone out there know if it really did work, and also what the command is actually doing. I was told it had to do with detecting base stations.

re. what is this command doing?

Having inquired a bit about this one, which dates back to around 5 or 6 years ago, it seems that frequencies were changed to prevent phones operating in the 900MHz band from detecting them. It seemed to work only selectively at the time, and in view of the foregoing, will not work now at all.
