Recovering deleted files

Hello, this is my first post here!

I have tried searching for this topic but could not find any results, but apologies if this is frequently asked.

I have a Nokia 6170 phone and have deleted some video files that I would like to retrieve.

Does anybody know if this is possible, if so, would you mind telling me?

Although I haven't got a Nokia 6170, I'm 99% sure that once a file is deleted off a phone (similar to deleting a textmessage), there is no way to retrieve it unless of course its in the 'trash'. The reason for deleting something would mainly be to free up space for other files and because of this the file *should* be removed completely, and not just moved out of public view.

Well said Nick. I haven't come across any phone that has a trash folder or something similar to it, so most likely, it's been deleted forever. Sorry.

Agree. I think that is only possible on PDA.

I guess you can not retrieve those until and unless there is some undelete option with the software.

If you connect it to a PC does it get recognised as a drive by the PC (for example drive F or similar)? If so you may be able to recover the data via some appropriate software (and not for that much either)
