Free texting: Canada/USA

A while back a thread was posted for free text messaging, but only in the UK. Here's a Canadian and USA option. The site has a pay version which will allow you to text anybody, but this one gets sent to most major networks:

Thanks for sharing. I just wonder if we can still send text message if the recipient does not have anymore credit on his or her phone. Have you got any experience on this?

My daughter had run out of prepaid time on her phone the other day, but was still getting text messages. It surprised me, so maybe the answer to your question is "yes you can still text." Maybe it depends on the network?

In our country, yes, anybody who has no prepaid credits can still receive calls and text messages. However, time might come that prolonged absence of load credits might resort to expiry/deactivation of the sim card.
