How to make ur own tones

Step 1 Open an audio file (such as MP3) in WavePad. Let the playing finish or stop the playing. If you don't want to cut your audio, skip steps 2, 3, 4, 5. Step 2 Click on the wave pattern at the start position of your ringtone. The start position will be marked by a vertical yellow line.
Go to the Edit Menu and click on "Select to Start". The portion before your start position will be highlighted as blue.
Click "Delete" button to remove the highlighted portion.
Step 3 Click on the wave pattern at the end position of your ringtone.
Go to the Edit Menu and click on "Select to End". The portion after your end position will be highlighted as blue.
Click "Delete" button to remove the highlighted portion. Step 4 Use your mouse to select (highlight) the last few seconds on the WavePad, Go to the Effects menu and click on "Fade Out".Step 5 Use your mouse to select (highlight) the first few seconds on the WavePad, Go to the Effects menu and click on "Fade In".Step 6 Go to the File menu and click on "Save File As ...".
Choose MPEG Layer-3 (*.mp3) for MP3.
Choose MPEG-4 Audio (*.m4a) for M4A/AAC.
Choose Wave (*.wav) for WAV.
Specify file name and directory, then click "Save" button. Step 7 For MP3 ringtone:
Select the radio button "Constant Bitrate (CBR)" and pick Bitrate 32, 40, 48 or 64. The higher the Bitrate, the better the quality, the larger the file size.

For M4A/AAC ringtone:
Select the radio button "Average Bitrate (ABR)" and pick Bitrate 32, 40, 48 or 64. Set the "Sample Rate" as 8000, 11025 or 16000 if available. Set "Channels" as Mono if available. The higher the Bitrate or the Sample Rate, the better the quality, the larger the file size.

or

For WAV ringtone:
Choose "Telephone Quality".

Click "OK" button. Your ringtone is done.
Listen to your ringtone before sending it to your phone.

I'm the same way, I'd love to try my hand at it, so thank you for the in depth walk through there, now if I could only get my technical side of my brain moving I'll be set

LOL, I was thinking the same thing when I was reading this post. I am educated and all, but that is way over my head. Great for anyone who is good with technical stuff though. I think I will just stick to downloading already made ringtones. Great info though. Thanks.

Or you could just use your phones sound recorder to make a memo and set it as your ringtone, lol.
