Hearing songs for incoming callers
I saw this commercial where the caller hears a song instead of ringing when they call you! Wow, I think that is so cool! Who offers that? Do any of you have it?

I am in Canada and there is a cell phone company here that offers it. I forget which one, might be bell. Anyways, I just remember the commerical for it was pretty stupid. lol. Cool idea though, it would be fun to hear music rather than the ringing on the phone while you are waiting for someone to pick up.

I've currently got Verizon but didn't know they offered this as an option. Will definately check it out. I do know you can specify different ring tones for different incoming numbers, but I didn't know you can select to have the caller hear anything other than a ring when they try to call. I'll check this out and let you guys know.

I have verizon wireless and they offer it. I haven't checked into it yet, but I bet it's pretty cool to have a song playing when you call someone instead of hearing the traditional tone.

Moccasin where did you find out about this? I have Verizon but I didn't see anything about it on their website. Did you just call your local provider or do you have a contract that includes it? I'd love to get this option but am not really wanting to sign another whole contract just to get it.

That sounds awesome, I'd really like that and I'd even be tempted to get a new phone and stuff just to make use of that. I've not seen it here but I'm definately gonna look for it

Then only bad thing I can think of with this option is if the song was really great I wouldn't want the person I was calling to pick up!

I'm not 100% sure, but I think I saw that Sprint had this, but then I have short term memory loss :P.

Gave it a google but I can't find anywhere in the Netherlands offering this which is a real shame as it sounds excellent.

Alternatic LyricB, you might find you can't stop calling the individual in question. Does anyone know if it's available in the UK? |

I'm not sure if it's available in the UK, but I did see the commercial for it yesterday. It's actually from Boost Mobile (or at least the commercial I saw was), does anyone know if this is compatible with your current network or if you have to have a contract with Boost?

I had it when I had Verizon (on an LG phone), and now that I've switched to Cingular, I really miss it! It was a lot of fun matching up names in my address book with songs/ringtones, plus it was useful to know without looking at the display who was calling.

^I think you have the wrong idea. They are talking about having it set to where when someone calls you that instead of them hearing a regular phone ring they hear a song instead. It's called RingBack Tones.
I love using them myself. Although I've had a few people that didn't particularly like the song. But I just told them not to call me then, hehe. |
