Your own ringtones
I read somewhere a while back that you can make your own ringtones. Has anyone actually done this before?

Most of the phones allow you to make your own ringtons on them anyway, why not try making a wacky tune on your phone. Lol, its fun and easy to do.

Well, I don't think I can do it on this phone I have now. Thought maybe there was a way to do it on the computer and then transfer it somehow, lol.

I've always made my own ringtones.
And there is a way to make it on the computer and transfer it to your phone. Just send the song to your phone and set it as your ringtone, that's if your phone supports .mp3 ringtones. |

How could you make a polyphonic ring tone? That's gotta be really hard. Do phones support MP3? I never knew that ==

Well after thinking, I think it would be easier just to transfer an actual song from my computer to my phone. Since I actually have that capability, never thought about using it lol. I don't think there is a feature on my phone where I could physically dial in or make my own creative ringtone.

It would be a great deal easier. Media Transfer between Computer and Phone is the way to go these days, which goes to say why the phone companies are going to make a iPod (lol) phone, just so people can store lots of stuff and use it when they want.

In order to make your own ringtones, you have to convert your music files to MIDI and then transfer them to your phone. This can be difficult, but there are programs out there to help you. Check out:

I have the LG VX8100. I just got done looking at the manual, which I should've done in the first place lol. I have this slot for a miniSD memory card and it says that I can put WMA files on it. But the phone didn't come with the actual memory card so I have to buy it. I can probably get a good one on Ebay.

Mine has the expansion memory card as well, I wonder if I could put my own ringtones on there. Could be a fun experiment.
