Question How to deal with the battery problem?

I think that iPhone 4 is really like a "street phone". Although iPhone 5 already comes out. But because of economic crisis, maybe some iPhone fans can't support this cost. As the oldder one, iPhone 4 shows some signs of slowing up, no matter the appearance or the battery life.
In fact, the most emerging issue is --- how to deal with the battery problem?
To buy an external battery?
No using too often?
....
I have no idea!
