which may perhaps seem costly to some

Another interesting development in the winter tyres story has just appeared in the shape of a new initiative by Volvo Cars UK. This interesting idea goes straight to the heart of several important issues that surround the possible use of winter tyres by motorists in the UK. And although this pioneering move is perhaps less surprising coming from a company with roots in Scandinavia where winter tyres are the norm for much of the year, it seems likely that other manufacturers may also follow suit by launching similar schemes because the idea, which may perhaps seem costly to some, has undoubted merits.Given that UK motorists are largely unfamiliar with the idea of winter tyres, the first part of Volvo’s initiative addresses the problem of which tyres and wheels to buy for their Volvo by offering motorists the opportunity to purchase a set of alloy wheels which are already fitted with winter tyres made by either Continental or Pirelli. The scheme,1 each|anniversary, which covers a selection of Volvo models including the most popular fitments on existing models, takes away all the worries of making the right technical and value for money decisions because both wheels and winter tyres are approved by Volvo for use on their cars. The next important point that Volvo’s winter tyres programme addresses is whether the motorist wishes to store their summer or winter tyres at home,Burberry Silk Scarf, at a local dealership, or at Volvo’s ‘Tyre Hotel’ where the seasonal spare set are stored to await changeover every six months. In fact this answers a very real need for UK motorists who, being relatively unfamiliar with the idea of using winter tyres, might very well not be able to find immediate availability of a suitable storage space. Prices for storage and fitment are very reasonable, as are the actual wheels and tyres packages which start at £949+VAT.Of course the main reason to choose winter tyres is for improved safety and both the Volvo company itself, as well as a large segment of its customers, are well-known for their considered approach to road safety in general. Offering winter tyres to UK motorists is a logical extension of this. In fact,Burberry Triangular Scalf Sale, Volvo has introduced the scheme in response to last winter’s extreme weather conditions which caused misery for millions of motorists. Volvo say quite rightly that their winter tyres cost no more than normal tyres but can stop a car at shorter distances regardless of how bad the weather gets. On top of which traction, steering and general handling are all improved by using winter tyres when the temperatures start to drop.
