The Riots in France

What is your view on the riots in France over the new law that makes it easier to fire young workers?

Personally, I think the law should be revoked. Employees have a responsibility to their bosses: to do their work, to attend their shift, etc. The employers should have the responsibility of not discriminately firing youth for no reason. It's simply unfair.

Here's an article with a good explination of what is happening: http://torontosun.com/News/World/200...4/1519698.html

I think it's clear that law should be revoked, I still don't understand why my governement wants that law to pass so badly... what's for sure is the situation isn't getting any better really.
I can never find any interesting job whenever I go back to my parents in France during university hollidays, it's really annoying. If things get even more annoying thanks to such duscriminating laws I don't know how I'll manage...

I have been hearing on the news that the new French work law was to improve the economy for them. Some how I got lost in the contradiction in this of how it would improve their economy.

Workers have rights regardless of age, gender, religion, race/ethnic origin etc. They really need to rethink the law and revoke it or rewrite it to protect both the employee and employer.

Yes, Chirac is now revoking the law which caused all of the problems. Now all of the students will hopefully stop rioting and go back to class!
