They're definitely trying to top the 360 and ps3, or at least provide something different that will sell well compared to the top 2 consoles.

I think the name is going to cause them problems. It's just too Wiiiiierd! (I know that's spelled incorrectly--you have to pronounce it for it to make sense! ) I read when it was announced that the "ii" has something to do with paralleling the configuration of the controller, but frankly, I've heard nothing but rueful snickers when the name comes up.

Yes, I suppose you're right. Still, it seems like they could have come up with something that didn't sound like what a kid screams out when swinging high or zipping down a slide! On the other hand, though, I guess "Wheeee!" does connote excitement and fun, and that's a good thing.
