Did anyone see Stephen Colbert at the White House Correspondents Dinner?

He basically told the President, his staff and the media that they were all doing an absolutely terribly job. It was a wonderful show, did anyone else see it?

I saw it and it ruled. I was gaping at the screen like, 'Wait, what? I - uh- what?' Good times.

Yeah, it was the best thing I'd seen. Ever.

I would have thought it, maybe, and glowered at the president a little. But to say all that stuff... gah. And also awesome.

Apparently, "Bush and cronies livid about Colbert's White House gig.

Hey, they invited him. Presumably they wanted to be the butt of Daily Show-style jokes. Otherwise, why would they invite him?

...or are they so, er, "satire-deaf" that when they caught a few performances on Comedy Central, they thought Colbert actually was a right-winger?

Well, to be honest its not like half the people in the room wern't thinking it, its nice he actually said it.

Salon.com has a video of Bush's reaction to Colbert. I haven't watched it yet, but I would imagine he looks befuddled. Perhaps sleepy.
