My mom is finally into the technology age

My mom just got her first computer a month ago. She’s pretty good at the point and click thing. She wants to learn Photoshop. It’s pretty cute to see this little 70-year-old lady on the internet. We both got an easy video chat app (ooVoo) so that we can have conversations without her having to type. I also put voice recognition on her computer, but she prefers typing because she used to be a receptionist and hasn’t used those skills in a while. She is pretty into Neopets too, which I think is funny. Anyone else have elderly parents/grandparents online?

Actaully I told her about Oovoo, said "you don't even have to type, you can send video e-mails and video chat" and she was excited by that. She was still under the impression that there was a lot of memorizing and typing commands that she had to do, once she learned that it was graphic, point and click, she warmed right up to it. I'd suggest you find a bunch of easy to use apps tailored for older people and tempt your mom with those.

That is good to hear. The internet is a great tool to learn no matter what your age.

I haven't lived with my mom, very far. But we connect by the internet, i can see her by the video. Funny!
