Canadian dollar worth almost as much as the US dollar
The Canadian dollar is at $0.90 American, which is higher than it's been since 1978. Can the Canadians in here educate me a bit: is it having a significant impact on your lives?

Well it's not got a significant impact yet, but it might soon enough. We make more money than Americans, and get free health care, so I guess we're probably about even now in terms of spending money. We'll have to see in a few months how things go.

It's been having a huge impact on ranchers here who sell to the US. Two years ago, a million $$ US was worth $1.5 mill Cdn...now it's worth about $1.1 mill...that's a loss of $400,000 out of a budget. That's gotta hurt.

On the other hand, it makes it cheaper for us to BUY from the US.
