hi all, my hubby and I have been with Orange for a few years now, in Jan of this year we upgraded and signed up for another 18 month contract. My hubby is a builder and his phone gets a bit more wear and tear more than the average user. So we took out insurance for him. Sure enough over the last few weeks the speaker has deteriorated and it is difficult to hear the other person.
I contacted Orange and they said we need to do some tests, the asked me for a number on the phone and told me to press a series of keys to obtain it, then a number appeared on the screen I told them this number. They asked for the same number on my handset. My hubby and I have exactly the same handset and received them both on the same day.
They have now told me that the sim cards have been put in the wrong handsets therefore my hubbys handset isn't covered by the insurance. They then told me to swap the sim cards over make a call and this will reregister the handsets to the correct sim cards. This then though will mean I have the handset which is damaged and I don't have the insurance. So they still won't help me.
Can anyone make any other suggestions or give me some help or advice as to what to do next?
