Arrow iMovie MKV import, iMovie import MKV - importing MKV movies to apple iMovie on Mac OS

iMovie is a video editing software application which allows Mac users to edit their own home movies. iMovie imports video footage to the Mac using either the FireWire interface on most MiniDV format digital video cameras, the USB port, or by importing the files from a hard drive. From there, the user can edit the video clips, add titles, and add music. Effects include basic color correction and video enhancement tools, and transitions such as fade-in, fade-out, and slides.
Before you can begin working in iMovie, you need to bring in some video from a video recording device and store the video on your computer (or an external hard disk). iMovie will also allow you to import the following file formats:
DV (standard definition) and HDV (high definition), MPEG-2 and AVCHD from Camcorders, MPEG-4, DV, and .MOV files stored in Mac. MKV to iMovie Converter can import MKV to iMovie supported format such as mp4 for edit.

HD movies are pretty hefty—about 2-3x bigger than standard def, running between three and four gigs, and then you get a bonus file on top of that, the iPod- and iPhone-compatible standard-def version—so I hope you've got some sick NAS storage for these whoppers.

I think better and cheaper is to rent HD movies. Then you can use professional MelodyCan converter to save and convert HD movies to your PC in the eternal use!
