Selling a phone on Orange

Right so, I'm currently nearing the end of a 12 month contract with Orange. I have a Nokia N70, which I really rather like. I'm thinking of renewing / changing the contract, possibly to one of the animal plans, and getting a free upgrade handset.

So far so easy.

The thing is, I don't really want an upgrade - I'm perfectly happy with my N70. So, I was thinking I could just keep my current phone, and sell the upgrade. It seems though that there's a clause in the Orange contract that prohibits me from doing this, and I've heard tales of Orange blocking phones, cancelling contracts and demanding return of the upgrade phone from people who do this. Does anyone know anything about the whole thing?
