prepaid or No contract providers

Hola all,

I am looking for a reasonable prepaid service provider or a pay by the month provider with no contract, or no long term contract. I am looking for a provider in the United States.

Am I looking for something that just doesn't exist? It seems the only ones that I find are outrageously over priced, or from a company that I hve no information on, and I don't know who to trust.

Can anyone help me out with this?

Thanks,
metrogirl

I believe most providers will go month-to-month if you buy the phone, but don't quote me on that. They don't like to do it, but if you push them, it can be done.

It's one reason I've stayed away from contract services ...there seem to be hidden terms of service which, if you don't read the fine print (read that miniscule), you end up shackled to them forever lol.

Check out Virgin Mobile (http://www.virginmobileusa.com/). They have a couple different offerings and you might be able to find something that works for you with them.

This is one of the things I am trying to avoid as much as possible as terms and contracts seem to be in very fine print and unclear sometimes and I might end up regretting this thing.

When you do something like that do you wind up paying more for the overall service? Seems to me providers would rather snatch people up with contracts.

It all boils down to how much you'll be using the service ...if it's a lot, then it pays to shop around for monthly contracts ...if not, prepaid makes the most sense.
