Does anyone work for a mobile phone service provider?

My husband used to work for TMobile. He absolutely hated his job. Once they promote someone to a supervisor position, they're basically free to do anything they please to the employees under them. My husband's supervisor hated him from day one. And he did everything in his power to make my husband quit. Including denying his request to transfer into a different area. They have great phones, but they're not ideal employers.

Hey there, I don't work for a cell phone provider but my sister does. She works for Nextel. She's been with them for a couple of years. She has no plans to quit as they are paying for her College while she works with them. Sounds like a great deal to me.

My ex-boyfriend works for one now, Telus. We never really spoke about it but he doesn't seem to really like the job at all. They don't pay too badly though.

Yes, they do pay pretty well. But when you're miserable, it's just not worth the money. And, at the time my husband gave his notice, his supervisor had already threatened to find a reason to fire him. He went directly to human resources after the threat, they told him they stand behind their supervisors. So, basically, regular employees do not matter. I think he got on the supevisor's bad side because he wasn't a brown noser. He went in, did his job, and that was it. He didn't try to be his buddy, and I think this guy was used to everybody trying too hard to be liked. He loves the job he has now, which pays pretty badly to be honest, but at least he's happy.

I've got a couple of friends who work for O2 and they both seem to enjoy working there.

One is a supervisor and the other is underneath her.

The pay is reasonable and they fit the hours around you, the only problem they (both) seem to have is the amount of pressure put on them to hit targets.

I think that comes with any sales job though. There are always demands placed on you to sell a certain amount working on both comission or not. I worked in retail (clothing) for several years and although we didn't work on commission, we had weekly sales targets we would have to meet. You just have to know your product well and have a great sales pitch.

My daughter works for Convergys, which provides service for Sprint customers in the US. Apart from solving problems, she's supposed to encourage customers to buy new products and services. Apparently, it can be a stressful place to work, but she seems to enjoy it, and the benefits are good.

Does anyone work for a mobile cellphone provider?

In our country, most of the mobile cellphone providers and call center companies are good in terms of treating and paying their employees, especially the call centers, where they have to take care of their employees otherwise turn-over will be rampant coz of the shifting/graveyard shift of the staff, guess this is the main reason that some staff don't last for a long time, another reason would be the pressure, yes, they pay much and at the start, it is challenging and enjoyable but once you get the heck of it, you can be bored and unhappy with your job and find another one ...
