Horrid Salesperson
Okay, few months ago DH and I went into a local Verizon store to switch over my phone number (we recently moved) and to resign a new contract. The guy we dealt with was absolutely horrid. It seemed like he was deliberately trying to bait my husband into yelling at him. And though DH just kept ignoring it, I finally lost it and told the guy to nevermind, we'd find help elsewhere and we left. He contradicted everything we said, kept telling us we weren't eligible for a certain promotion (which we had already confirmed that we were via Verizon's customer service over the phone), and even tried to tell us that we actually owed them money. I called the general service number and complained to a manager, and we found a different store in town here that we use. Has anyone else had horrific experiences with sales people or am I just that lucky?

I worked for a cell company for quite awhile, and so did my hubby. It is pretty common to find crappy sales people, that won't answer questions or try to get you into something you don't want or can't afford. It is not common to get a salesperson that tries to pick a fight with your husband. Sorry...lol...I think you just got lucky.

there is nothing worse than a nasty sales person, they really ruin the company image and sour you to their company. It might be worth reporting it as I am sure that their boss will not be impressed.

The problem with cell salespeople is they are all comission based. This can be good and bad. If you get an expert salesperson who knows that building long-term relationships is how they can make real money, then you are golden. If you get the person who is struggling to sell anything and makes $2 an hour and is in a bad mood and isn't knowledge nor understands how to make money as a comissioned salesperson, well you are likely to run into a poor sales experience.

I must say, I've had all sorts of experiences with sales people - most recently at the opticians.
Fortunately - touch wood - I'm yet to have a bad experience with a mobile phone salesperson! |

When will comapnies learn that news of bad customer service experiences travels a zillion times faster than news of a good experience??

I've had some of them. I called the telephone cust service for Verizon DSL to cancel the plan. I literally took an hour to cancel! He just kept on going and going about all these 'special offers' that I was not interested in. I kept telling him, No I am not interested in any offers, I just want my plan to be cancelled,"

I had a bad experience at a store when they were AT&T at the time. I need help, and she gave me vague answers. She just kept saying that she couldn't help me and to call AT&T over the phone instead. Argh.

I work for a mobile phone co, and i find that the independant dealers give the customer a load of rubbish to get the customer contract and when the customer rings us, we dont even do what they are promoting which lands us with an unhappy customer !!
