Welcome to the forums.
unlock codes. -------------- The unlock code to open the device to all networks is available thro your network provider, but is normally only available when the contract is up or at leat 3 months has gone by on a payg contract. Also be ready to pay a fee for this code. The security code which allows the user to lock their handsets to stop other people from putting thier own sim cards in etc is normally in the instruction manual that came with the fone. Although the user can change this to one of their own so if this fone is 2nd hand and the codes been changed then speak to the original owner to get the code. The instruction manual can normally be downloaded via the manufacturer's website in pdf form. If the above does not resolve then you can have the fone flashed to return everything to default although you will lose all downloaded data. This process can be actioned at certain carphone warehouses. Check www.carfonewarehouse.com to see if your nearest has a repair centre in it. It does not matter if it was purchased from them as they do this under the warranty. You must however show proof of purchase. Good luck.

Sable,
Thanks for the info. I borrowed someone else's T-Mobile SIM and tried to enter the code, when it asked me for Network Password. It did not unlock the phone. Perhaps it has to be a virgin SIM?? Let me know. Thanks. Diametrix Last edited by diametrix : 07-09-2008 at 1:05 AM. |

Typically their is 4-5 unlocks codes for each handset.
This is why one unlock codes works for one but not for another.

I called AT&T, twice. Mind you, I am an
AT&T customer. The first time, they denied me to the unlock code. The second time, as I was a customer of theirs for some time and in good standing and because the mood of the person must have been good, they were very cooperative and gave me the code, which I think is only good for each individual phone. They needed the model # and IMEI #. It worked and here, it is, though I doubt it will work for any other phone. Of course, I may be wrong about that. 27276838 1. Take out your SIM. 2. Replace with other SIM (other than your provider). 3. Power up. 4. When Network pin is requested, enter code and then the Enter key. You will, then, see "Pin Unblocked" and that is it. You have this unblock code. You have the other one, from Sable, up top, which might possibly work. I saw another code that was given to another c168i owner and here it is: 210856302 Incidentally and of course, these did not work on mine. However, if you want to try them, I do not think it will damage the phone but do not hold me to that. As an AT&T client, you should be able to obtain the unlock code, as long as you are in good standing with them and that translates into 90-days of solid service. Just ask for it, for the purpose of international travel and you should have no issues and you should not any, rightly, as it is your phone. If they deny you, call the next day and talk to another tech and re- member: sugar is sweeter than vinegar. In other words, be nice. ;-) Good luck and thanks to all.
