Verizon
I remember the exact day I heard about Verizon, it started a long time ago. I was watching TV, and I saw this commercial, it was the only time I saw this commercial, but it was saying Bell Atlantic has now become Verizon, and that was all. I loved Bell Atlantic, they just sounded so caring, and then they just disappeared, and that's why I don't like Verizon.

I don't like Verizon because even though I'm in a suburb to a metropolitan area, I live in the one tiny "dead spot" in the whole area! I got Verizon and couldn't use it inside my house, but somehow, I didn't really notice this during the trial period, so I ended up having to pay the termination fee to get out of my contract, even though the service was clearly inadequate.

I currently have verizon service and I wish I didn't. They also bought out GTE where I live, and for some people provide local service. In fact their fiber beta test happened right next to my house.
That being said their cell coverage sucks where I live and I am counting the minutes until I can get away from them. |

I'm probably getting a Verizon networked phone soon since they have reliable service in my area (though I'm moving and I need to see if that's still the case). I had Cingular but I started to not get service for weeks at a time! It was annoying, to say the least.

Everywhere I've lived Verizon has been great. The coverage areas have worked out perfect for me. But I can see how it would get to be a hassle to be in the one dead spot in town!

I used to not like Verizon because I heard such bad stories about it. But I went ahead and bought the LG VX8100 from Verizon and haven't had one problem. I was actually wuite shocked, lol.

I wouldn't suggest Verizon. I had it for a few months, had many dropped calls which I was not compensated for. I switched to Cingular and been a proud customer since.
