SIM Only deals

I keep seeing SIM Only tariffs being advertised and I'm thinking of trying one out. Is it really as cheap as it sounds? Am I missing something? Sounds a little too good to be true!!

Anyone tried it out or got any advice about which is the best deal?

Hi, my name is Rosh.

The sim only deals are actually quite good. They do offer you more minutes and texts and sort fill in the gap between long-term pay monthly contracts and pay as you go. Basically, if you have a phone you are happy with and dont want to get tied down to a long term contract then theses are great. It's a 30-day contract.

I've done a bit of research and created a site on it Sim Only Contracts
Lots of good info if you don't know much about it and all the major networks like o2 and t-mobile and vodafone are there.

I would say the best deals are on o2 and t-mobile but it will also depend on your usage.

Hope this helps.

I signed up for a T Mobile sim only contract a few weeks ago and think they're really good value. I already own a Nokia n96 which i love an had no plans on changing handsets. I get 350 minutes and unlimited texts for £15 per month. Got it from this site - sim deals. Be careful with thses contracts though, because if you go over you monthly allowance the charges are quite high.

sim only deals are ideal if you already have a phone and are happy with it,
lots of people these days get a fancy new phone 'free' with their contract.
there aint no such thing as 'free',
true they get the phone but get limited mins + txt's,
thats how the networks subsidise the cost of the handset.
And also the reason that sim only deals are such good value, they do not have to recover the cost of the handset thru' your calls.
i'm on a sim deal with 02,
600 mins, 1200 txt's and unlimited web browsing for £19.58 a month,
tho' since i joined they have upgraded it to...
800 mins + unlimited txt's. you get 1 free bolt-on with this package, i chose free web, but there are other options.
plus point for 02, free customer service calls.... to the uk 08:00-21:00 7 days,
and using the free 'bluebook' online service you get 100 free web text's per month, automatic back up of all your txt messages, free photo storage and sharing, and you can back up your contacts to and from your phone.
I switched to 02 mobile and broeadband 5 months back and so far i've found them to be excellent.
another bonus... if you have an 02 mobile you get 25% off their home broadband, so i'm now getting 5mbs download + 1 mbps upload unlimited for.... £7.73 per month.
AND it really is unlimited, a friend asked me to check for him so i went to their forums and guys there were quoting using 30, 50, 80, and 100gb per months with no capping
