Helo everyone,
I was wondering if I am the only one who feels rather annoyed at recieving messages from my network service -Orange- nearly everyday for advertisements. When I bought the phone I took it with pay as you go so I don't have any contract (I love the idea of not being under contract really) and never signed any paper to say I accept recieving these messages from them. The only one I kind of liked was the ones about free text messages for me if I take 10£ of credit lol I haven't asked at the shop how I can have Orange stop sending me these texts yet but does anyone here know if it is even possible? Are you personnally annoyed with these? thank you! |

I don't have orange, but I know if they did that to me there would be a very quick phone call or e-mail sent to them complaining that if this didn't end, they would never receive my money again! I suggest you do the same, it's amazing how such a comment can result in less spam.

Crazy, I'd do something similar to 0dd, I'd never put up with that.
Luckily on Vodafone I rarely get a spam text... maybe once a month if that. Consider that it may not be Orange but third parties who've got your number through a directory, the net, or some service you submitted your number to. |

Heh I'll contact them because it's definitely Orange...they say it's them at the beginning of the text.... thank you for your help!

I very rarely get spam texts off Orange (maybe once every 6 months) and I'm on contract with them.
Don't quote me on this but I think if you reply to one of their messages with STOP they will stop. I think this is right as a friend of mine works for O2 and told me some time ago to send this to stop messages from anyone (though it was some time ago when they told me so I could be wrong). |

I get that from Virgin mobile. It doesn't happen every day, but it still annoys me! Those are my minutes your wasting! I just delete them without reading them, because I can tell who the messages are from.

If they are taking advantage of you that much by sending advertisements, drop them. Cingular or Verizon all the way.

If your getting that many messages, you need another company. That is just totally unacceptable.

Vodafone are quite good at leaving you alone

Orange doesn't bother me that much - I must have ticked the right box on the sign-up form. But they do send me the odd invitation to the 2-1 cinema offer on Wednesdays, which I quite like.

I've got Orange pay as you go, and I get a text message from the about every two months. I phoned them up and asked they not send any more, and it seemed to work ....it's been several months and nothing!

I usually get a message from o2 once every 2 or 3 weeks, so it doesn't really bother me, the message usually arrives at about 6 in the morning,

Is there such a thing as a do-not-text-ad list? Like the do-not-call list?
