orange pak code help?

Ok ill cut to the chase. Theres a very big reason why i want to leave orange, but thats for a different thread.

I just asked if i could have the pak code for my phone and she said she cant give me it, cause my contract doesnt end until 12th May. The only way to recieve the code is if i pay the remaining contract balance. Is this correct?

I want to leave and at least give the change to grovel for the massive mistake they have made but im gettin nowhere.

Your help would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

If your in a contact that has not run its full term then the network are entitled to ask you to pay the remaining months line rental if want to leave.

Then the code is available for you to use to move your mobile telephone number to another network, which typically takes 4-5 days.

What they are telling you is correct, however, depending on the severity of your problems with them you may find an understanding manager if you escalate your problem?

Orange Customer services

Whilst this reply won't necessarily help to answer this post, here is my story. I am on Orange pay-as-you-go and wishing to switch to ASDA(Vodafone). Customer services connected me to India. Very polite but most unhelpful guy accepted all security details, kept me on hold for twenty minutes whilst I listened to old Christmas songs, and then asked me to visit an Orange shop to verify my ID before I could get my PAK code.

He explained that the PAK code would arrive in the post around four days after ID verification. When I asked if this was their standard procedure, he claimed that he did not believe I was who I said I was.

Previously, I had asked for a new SIM as the current one was over six years old and sometimes failed to connect properly to the contacts. Brilliant! They sent a courier with a new replacement phone and wanted to repair my old one. Yes I am now an irate customer! They just don't listen do they!

Goodbye Orange - Hello any other network.

If he had concerns on the authenticity of you being the customer then they should have ended the call ,and attempted to contact the account holder ,to confirm and advise on what they thought was an unauthorised attempt to enter into an account.

Most networks would connect you with their retention team to tempt you to stay with them, offering 'sweetners' such as lowered line rental and more text/minutes or an upgrade of fone.

Technology as it is now makes the pac code easy [or should be} to access. This is normally one month before the end of the contract. It normally takes 3 days by post or sometimes via a text.
