Problem with 3's website sales

A couple of days ago I found an offer on 3's website for a free Nokia n80 on a tariff that had a £15 line rental for the first six months. Below the offer, there was a line of text that read "this offer is available until 31 July 2006". Over the next two days, I had a look round for other offers but decided to go ahead with the n80 from 3. Yet when I came back to the website today to order the phone, the offer had changed. The handest was no longer free, it would now cost me £49.99!

Angered, I phoned 3's sales dept immediately and was told that the 31 July valid date only applied to the tarrif, and not the price of the handset. Their webiste however, does not make this distinction. Every offer available on there - including the orignal n80 one - has the phone price and tarrif details presented together, with the 'valid to' date shown below.

Is there any further recourse available to me? Is it worth complaining to a higer up employee at 3? Thanks in advance for your help.
