In January, a law took effect banning teens under the age of 18 from talking on a cell phone while driving.
An incident that took place in St Cloud Thursday night underlines the reason it was passed.
Police say a 17-year-old driver dropped her phone, and took her eyes off the road while she tried to find it.
Her vehicle drifted out of the driving lane, striking and injuring two women, one of them badly.
"I suffered a broken leg, it's actually the femur bone," said Carol Schraut. She said she never saw the young driver who hit her..
"I just woke up, realized I was at the hospital and then they informed me what had happened."
maybe its not a cell phone thing...maybe its a teenage immaturity thing...lets just ban teenagers...house arrest for people between 13-19...at 20 they can come back out and be part of the world...that will fix it...well...maybe ...right?
Gotham - it's not only teenagers. It's pretty much everyone who gets distracted because of cell phones. Dialing, checking caller ID, having one hand on the wheel because you have the phone to your ear. It's a major problem.
Belson, I hear you buddy...I know its not a teenager thing...look I am all for restricting the cell phone use for stressed out soccer moms, and road warrior salesmen as well...but those are registered voters my good man...the kids can't vote...sooo...we can pick on them...ya know?
But good to know you are on board...you give this Forum some class...hey, do the people of this Forum know that away from this you are a bonafide celebrity?...nice of you to come spend sometime with us...see how the other half lives...;)
