Faster way to text message?
Hello,
I have a Motorola 180v (I think), which is only a year old and already seems horribly out of date. Text messaging has become a quick and easy way for me to send and receive information from co-workers, friends and so on, but I've found that typing a text message into my cell phone is a cumbersome process. Is there a faster way to do it, or do I need to upgrade and find a phone that flips open to reveal a keypad? Also, does any one know of a way to read a series of text messages, like email so if you response to the same message you can read the ones before it? I've gotten a couple where I couldn't remember what question had been asked and didn't know what the answer meant. Any thoughts? |

Use "Dictionary". It makes typing messages a great deal easier. For example, you want to type a 10 letter word. Rather than browsing through each letter, you just put in each number and the phone will make the word automatically for you. You could also use the arrow keys to browse messages quicker.

Faster way to text messages
Hello!
I think you need a new phone, suggest Nokia as it is user-friendly. Perhaps for your e-mail messages that you can access easily and view the whole message well, try the one with the bigger screen, better still, try to check on the phones of your friends so that you will not regret when you finally decide to buy a new one. |

I've really resisted getting too much into text messages because my Siemens phone just seems too tiny to deal with typing! I don't have huge hands or anything, but what phone has the largest key pad?

Try out a SideKick or an LG F9200. There's also a Verizon phone that opens in half and reveals a keypad.
If they're beyond your budget, try buying a phone with T9. If you can master it, you'll be texting a lot faster. |

Faster way to text message
Hello!
Yah! I saw the Sony Ericsson has a bigger screen and you can also use that thing that works like a pencil, just use it to point, point, not press, press. However, if the budget is tight, what about scouting for second hand phones that are not very much used and old ... if you find one at the right price, guess it is still ok as these kinds of phones are still new so they are not yet used that long... |

I saw this phone that was just a big touch screen. It cost a LOT, but then it was customised to you: your voice. You could say a whole sentence, and it would type it out for you, exactly, but sometimes if you got a cold or something, you could use the "onscreen keyboard". It looked awesome, too bad it was coming out in 2008~.

Really? Wow, that sounds like it would save a lot of time and effort! Where did you get the information about it? Just how much does it cost?

I have seen a lot of people using Verizons T9 texting. I am not really sure how it works as it seems to be more able to be used by the younger generation. I just decided to get a Treo phone that has the full keyboard for my texting needs...which I love.

Yea, as flukeman suggested, dictionary is one tool which is present in most of the old models and is a very speed-assisting tool.
Another way is practice |
