Wink Saving stored text messages

I have a new phone on the way and I was wondering when you take the SIM card out does everything stored in it get wiped out once removed or will everything remain. I dont want to assume either way on it. I know all your phone book contacts remain, just dont know about the text messages. THey are important that I keep a few of them since they can be used against someone for threaths on my family.Any info would be good thanks..

I don't think they get wiped, but I am not 100% sure. Do you have any software with your phone to do backups?

I just checked on my Orange card because I was curious and there was nothing there I cared if I lost or not ...the text messages were still there.

If they don't save, it's possible to get some kind of gadget which transfers them to your new phone for you, I believe. I'm sure i've seen something similar.

It depends on where the messages are stored. If they are stored in the sim card, they will follow wherever the sim card is being used. If these messages are in the phone's 'hard drive' then it stays with the phone.
