I talked to my friend who did this, and he said he talked to Motorola. Perhaps try to press them a little bit harder.

Yeah, I would think that if it is a Motorola sim card, then Motorola should be able to give you a sp lock code to unlock it so you can use it. Good luck!

Cool Unlocking

Only the network can supply u with the unlock code for the handset.

Normally this is after either the contract has expired or the subsidy recouped on a prepay contract which is usually 3 months.

expect to pay an admin fee for this code too.

Motorola are telling you to contact vodafone because the fone belongs to the network as they purchased it from motorola. and i suspect they would have put some of their own software on the handset.

The networks want you to use their services to recoup the subsidy they put on the fone and so are a little reluctent to unlock for you to use another network.

Hope this helps

there are a few sellers on e bay who sell software/codes for cheap. u can try that. (its hit and miss, remember not to enter the worng code 5 times if u do so ur phone is bust)
u can take it to the phone shop in the market/city centre where they advertise for sim unlocking he would sort u out (rates vary £5-£20 depeding on phone/location)

Geez. Sounds like you get the run-around then you end up paying a nice chunk of chnage. Like they make it difficult on purpose to make some extra money.

Anything ever happen? This thing get resolved?
