Replacing Batteries

When I first bought my phone, the battery lasted for almost a week. However, the battery has since degraded, and now I can only get about 3 days of standby time before I have to recharge. When the phone is actually in use, I only get about an hour of talk time. I'm considering replacing the battery outright.
I assume that others have had the same problem. Do you replace your cellphone batteries periodically? Is so, how often?

I haven't ever replaced my battery before, and my phone seems to be doing well. I've dropped my phone in the water, cement, and sand. The phone still works perfectly, and I don't have any plans to replace the battery any time soon My parents/brother have never replaced their batteries either.

My cell phone battery has lasted almost a year now. I charge it everyday religiously and really dont use it excessively. Maybe 600 minutes a month.

sounds like you may have a problem with the charger, not necessarily the battery - head back to the retailer and see if there's something wrong with it!

Depends on the phone model. I have had this battery for last 2 years and now the standby time has degraded to around 30% of what it used to be. I guess I shall change it now.

Over time most cell phone batteries should last less. After 2 years you should almost be ready for a new phone!

I haven't replaced mine yet but even if my battery would break down already, I would just sell the whole phone and then buy a new one.

I guess the performance of the battery depends on the user. I charge my battery when my cellphone is fully drained and its turned off when its charging. That's what the phone distributors are advicing for the lifespan of the battery to be longer.

What I have found with several of my phones is that the battery is great in the beginning. Battery would last along time after a charge and good talk time but as the battery and phone got older. I was finding I had to recharge it more often and the talk time was diminishing. I have yet to find a battery that doesn't do this. I always end up replacing.

I think it depends a lot in the usage and phone model. I did not replace mine yet but it defently does not take me as long as it used to. Specially on days that friends keep on messengering to me. I think IM takes a lot out of the battery.
