Mobile upgrade

Hi everyone,
Just looking for some advice really. I'm due to receive an upgrade at the start of next month and I was wondering if anyone could suggest any decent handsets. For the past few years I've always chosen samsungs but I'm starting to become a litlle tired of them and was maybe thinking of switching to a nokia or sony ericsson. Only problem is I have no idea what is out there and what they are like!
Also does anyone know of some new handsets which are due to be released around december or january time because I could always hold on if a newer, more up to date model is due to be realesed.
Preferably I'm looking for something small, with all the latest features, although I'm not too bothered about an mp3 player as I constantly have my ipod with me anyway!!
Any suggestions of what to get (or alternatively what not to get if you've had a bad experience!) would be much appreciated.
Many Thanks
Helen

Hmmmmmm

Its really down to what you are going to use your handset for !

Work or play or both.

Battery power and features.

I always tend to go for Nokia really as their warranty and firmware upgrades way out shine the others.

Im currently using a Nokia 8800 and a Samsung e 900, as these suit me. You are right to wait till xmas to see whats new out. Carfone Warehouse always seem to have the newest ones out 1st on the high street.

I'm really happy with my Sony Ericsson, but could probably be of more help if I knew what kind of phones your network was offering up.

well im with o2 at the moment, although iv got to say they don't seem to offer as many phones as some of the other networks. i can basically take my pick from any of the phones off their websites (link : https://shop.o2.co.uk/phones) but the ones the lady mentioned when I phoned up were the sony ericsson k800i or k850i, samsung d900 and the nokia n73, although there are a lot more to choose from than just those!
I'm definitly more interested in having it for play! want something small n stylish with all the latest features if poss! i just find it such a minefield with so many to choose from!!

I'd lean toward the Sony Ericssons myself. I absolutely adore mine.

Are there any specific features you are looking for?

The Sony Ericsson K800i is an amazing phone. You should try it in a shop to see if you like it.

I like nokia phones but in general I find that the Ericsson ones are easier to use overall.
