So - does anyone know what is with these listings of free mobiles on ebay? It says not to bid and to read the description - Ive read the description but am still pretty much in the dark - anyone know any more about this?

I would not do it. Probably a dud phone or just a scam to rob you of money. Most likely a scam for PayPal money. But you never know.

I sold my old phone for $2.00 so you never know. Might just be people trying to get rid of their old stuff since no body wants it. I would do the same.

If they dont want you to bid...chances are its not just somebody trying to get rid of their old phone. I would be very wary of these types of things. many are just ads for programs like the free ipod where you have to compleate lots of offers and spend lots of $$ before you ahve the opportunity to perhaps win something free, in this case a phone.

sounds like a scam... I'd be VERY careful about this sort of thing - eBay does the best they can to stop scammers, but some do get through.

I strongly feel they are scam. I would suggest you to not send even a dime to them.

check the feedback from other buyers on eBay - it's not a perfect system, but usually the feedback is a good indication of how it's going with the public.

The free phone adverts on ebay are generally adverts for free mobile phones with 12 or 18 month contracts which you have to sign up for to receive the phone.

If you see adverts saying "don't bid" then these are against eBay policies and should be reported.

I've had a nightmare trying to get my ebay listings right, the eBay customer service team are hopless apart from a guy named Wally Battle who pointed me in the right direction.
