Nokia Voice Tags / Voice Dialling
I have recently renewed my contract with Vodafone UK and decided to replace the 6230i with a 6280. Having spent a while setting up the phone, copying the address books over and getting it paired up with my bluetooth headset, I was stumped by the voice command dialling.
On the 6230i, you can store a voice tag against a specific number for someone - so for example if you have three numbers for a friend, you can have all three numbers stored under that one person's name, with say a voice tag for their mobile number. If you do a handsfree call while in your car (when your hands and eyes really are busy doing something else!) you can say your friend's name, and this is matched against that persons number. The call is made.
The problem with the 6280 is that everything is accessable via voice dialling as each command and name has been encoded with a computer style voice - which I sound nothing like. So, I ask for a name, and you get four or five options. After one and a half seconds, the phone auto dials the person it sees fit. This is not acceptable when driving!!
To cut a long story short (too late) the phone is going back under Voda's 14 day guarantee. The question is, what phone do I pick in it's place? If none of them do the personalised voice tags, I guess it's another newer 6230i. WHich is OK, but I would have liked a phone with a bigger screen, more pixel heght and width etc for reading the emails etc.
Any suggestions guys?
