Motorola PEBL U6

I got this phone for my 11 year old son, its just a to and from school phone. I bought it via O2 on pay as you go, he had an old phone via Vodaphone and it still has quite a high credit value so I put his old SIM in and it is locked...

Any solutions?

I've been robbed now twice with "pay me money and I'll solve all your problems" websites. So I'm happy to pay but want something reputable.

Not 100% sure about the peble but you should be able to take it and get it unlocked.

You can go to a high street shop that does the unlocking

Will cost at max 20

Hope this helps

Cool

The fone is locked for a reason.

To ensure you use the networks services to help them recoup the subsidy levied on the handset.

On PAYG its normally 3 months then they will give you an unlock code for an admin fee.

Im sorry you found out the hard way about sites offering unlock codes or cables/software to unlock the handsets. They sound too good to be true and they normally are.

Yes you can take the handset to a shop/market trader to have it fried but beware of the pitfalls when you do this. The price starts from 5 +

The guarantee is voided.

The fone can suffer from signal drop etc and sometimes the software put on the fone by the original handset does not integrate with the new network.

I buy my handsets from the carfone warehouse as they are unlocked wether they are on contract or pay as u go as thet 'marry' up the handset with the network you want.
