I was grocery shopping with my mom last weekm and we counted so mnay pople 'checking' thir grocery lists on the phone that she actually asked me 'What did peoole do before cell phons?'

Not too long ago, I was killing time waiting for a train in a nice little coffee shop. There was me and one other person in the shop, I'm sitting there drinking my latte whn I hear 'Hey, how you doing?'.... so I turn around to say hi... and he was on his cell. Oops.

I hated when I worked at a grocery store, and the person would come to my cash still on the phone. I'm sorry if anyone here does that, but it really angered me. Like, dude, two minutes of your time okay? They'd barely look at me and grrr. It just made me so angry.

People who are on their phone too much

Hello!

I would say that talking and texting over the phone are forms of communication. However, let us also remember that the personal and the live ones who are near to us also deserve our attention. What happense most of the time is that some people are so engrossed texting and talking with somebody on the phone and they have become inattentive and insensitive to the ones who are near them. Guess, phones, especially cellphones should only be for emergency purposes ...

I never minded Joe Schmoe who, upon walking into the store, realizes he's forgotten if he was supposed to get a 12 pack of the Diet Coke and a 12 pack of regular Pepsi, or if it was supposed to be a 12 pack of regular Coke and a 12 pack of Diet Pepsi. If he calls his wife and saves running home and back again, more power to him because, usually, he's the one that is on 2 minutes, hangs up and goes on about his business.

I mind my mother... We went into the grocery store and had lunch at their little deli one day. As soon as we were done eating, she's on the phone to her friend. And she's yelling. And she's on the phone with her friend, to tell her how bad the cruise she'd been on was. And how she'd never go on another Italian run line again!

And yet she has the hypocrisy of grumbling about the woman in the parking lot, putting her groceries away in the trunk, while she's talking on her phone. Ugh!

I don't mind if they talk for ages, as long as they don't bug me when I'm doing something important. My mum talks to her friends for ages (1-2 hours) but its free talk, so she talks lots. I'm about 2 metres away, using my computer. It doesn't bug me at all, because my sound's louder . I hate the people who talk on their phones while they're driving, then lean out the window to scream "learn to drive!" while swerving like crazy.

That's pretty funny, Anarch!

I was trying to back out of a parking space at the supermarket yesterday, and there was a woman standing in the middle of the two way road to the space talking on her phone. She wouldn't move. I kept inching back and she just waved me off. Two cars trying to get into spaces were also stopped. One honked and she waved him off.

A guy rolled down his window and yelled "Take your phone sex elsewhere, sister".

She turned bright red and ran to a car! It was hysterical!

It is illegal here to drive while talking on phone in mycountry, but lots of people do it. Lots means lots on even crowded streets. I too do it but very rarely and only on wide vacant road-stretchs.

That rules. I hate when people won't stop a conversation for two seconds when you obviously have something important to tell them, or you wouldn't bother trying while they are obviously busy.

I remember going to a lunch meeting with another company. All the clients were eating with a fork in one hand and their mobile in the other.... They nearly chocked on their meal when I told them I'd left my phone in the car - on purpose so that I could eat in peace...!

As others have said...a time and a place..

Well,
I hate people who talk so much in phones.
Well, i have seen my cousin, whenever i go to her house, shez on phone.
Well, i never get much time to talk to her, everytime the dumb phone has to ring and i hate it.
Well, as soon as her dad goes out, she sticks to the phone and calls so much that landed up getting a phone bill of 200$

I guess cellphones are replacing books these days for the school-going kids. The trend is alarming.

Yeah, Even i believe it.
Not really replacing books but replacing free time that they could use to do some other creative work.
I never used cell phone when was a kid or read books.
I was a computer freak. LoL
