Problems with LG Chocolate /KG800)
Hey all I have been having a problem with my LG Chocolate for a while, and I am now unable to use it at all. Whenever I turn it on the screen appears bright white, yet it is still responsive, eg vibrates when someone calls.... apart from the fact I can't see anything at all on the screen. I have tried taking it back to Orange but as I don't have Orange Care they have refused to do anything about it and said I have to get in contact with LG instead to sort the problem out! It is only about 6 months old and due to this problem I have had to go out and buy a Motorola L6, which I do not like as much!
Anyway any help would be useful. I've tried cleaning all terminals under the battery cover etc. Suggest away! Thanks in advance to anyone that helps.
Cleaning it wont resolve this issue.
White screen is normally a result of something going on the internal motherboard.
If the fone is under 12 months old then the shop you purchased it have a duty of care to resolve this for you , as the contract of sale is with them not LG.
Ask to speak to a manager and quote duty of care to them and ask how to esculate the issue if he/she cant help.
Ie: head office tel and fax numberrs and e mail addresses. Area Managers name. Also ask who their CEO is as asking these type of questions shows your resolve to be given customer service.
Carefone Warehouse will look at fones, even if you have not purchased it from them, as long as they are under 1 yr old and you have the receipt. Some of them have internal repair shops or will send it off for you. beware tho if the damage is not thro normal wear and tear then you will be charged.
Im suprised that Orange have been shoddy at helping you as they are normally very good. If the handset is over 1 year then im afraid you have no where to go with the shop although check your household insurance to see if this is covered under that policy.
I once had an issue with a handset purchased from Vodafone and it turned out to be the charger. The shop assistant tried telling me that my contract was with siemans and would have to contact them. I politley pointed out i purchased this from their shop and my contact of sale was with them , and I quoted the sales of goods act which stipulates the item must be of a good quality and do what is has been described as. After that he sent off for a new charger from siemans and looked a little ruffled that I was not going to go away.
Points to note: be polite as shouting etc only helps them not to serve you.
Have been in contact with Orange once again who have said that they are unable to help as I did not purchase Orange Care! They once again provided me with a phone number for LG and told me to contact them instead. I purchased the phone from an Orange Shop as they have always been very helpful in the past but now appear to be uninterested! The handset is just over 6 months old now so Orange should be of more help I feel.....
