Free Phones
So, well, I got a cheap free phone from Cingular because my family has been with them so long. I guess that the phone is alright. There is nothing special to it, just made for calling people, and to send text messages bascially.
It is the C1300i from LG. |

Yeah, usually phones are usually standard, nothing amazing. Barring gifts, I really don't like how you have to sign for such a long term with the free phones, but I guess it covers the price.

I've always thought the free phones were basically junk. So, I usually end up dropping some cash on something better. Maybe I'm a little bit spoiled.

I just got a new phone, paid $29.99 for it and still have a three year contract with it. The contract would only be lowered if I dished out more money for a phone. No thanks. I have had a few phone in the past and I agree the quality isn't that great. I ended up replacing it shortly after.

Free is good!! I like free, it's right in my price range. But really, I've had new free phones with every plan I've had and they've never been really bad. I have no complaints. Most companies give you a phone just to get you as a customer.

There are a lot of free services in my country, the Philippines. Not to mention that my country is the texting capital of the world. You can get a free phone, of good quality, when your contract is for 3-5 years. For average phones, at least 1-2 years.
We have here many free services, we call them unlimited service. For example, register for an unlimited call service of about 100 pesos($2), and for one week you can call all your friends with the same network for a week, no more additional call charges. |
