Has your xwll phone save yout life? Helped find your car? Let you win money from a radio station? What's the best use you've put your cell phone to??

I got lost trying to find a show some part of the city I'd never been before, and I was twenty-minutes late and my friends were performing, and it was dark and cold and creepy, so I used my phone to call a cab to help me get there because I had no idea where I was.

It didn't save my life, I don't think. But it helped. Unfortunetly, I missed my friends playing by the time I got there.

It's never saved my life, but it has helped greatly.

I in MA once and I needed to get home to RI within 40 minutes. I had no ride to come get me so I called several people and finally got one. I made it just in time, 3 minutes before 4:00.

I was in hospital for a while last year so used it a lot to keep it touch with my email, text my friends and family, play games etc - it was indispensable in that situation.

When I was commuting by train, all the passengers would whip out their cells just after we left the second to last stop on the line to have their cabs/rides waiting on them when they stepped out of the station. That was BC (before cell) for me, but I learned pretty quick to turn to the closest person and say 'Can you ask them to send a second cab, please?'

It didn't save my life, only my relationship.

I see a Texan, He got caught in the big hurricane and I couldn't get through to him. I had an oppotunity to rent a house, which I took, but I couldn't get a mobile signal and the landline hadn't been connected. The only other number I had for him was his friends mobile over in France.

So I drove 20 miles till I found a place where my phone worked and called his friend. That was a funny conversation we had never spoken before. It turned out my fella was alright and was going to be working with him the following day. And he had been trying to get hold of me.

So I arranged to drive back to the spot the same time the following day. I was so relieved to hear his voice. I ended up driving to that spot everyday for a month - until my landline was connected.

Lynn

I don't know if my cell has ever saved my life...however, I travel quite a bit back and forth from my boyfriends house (we live about 1.5 hours apart) and find myself getting very sleepy. We call each other while traveling to stay awake...otherwise..ut oh!!

Yeah, it has helped saves my life on a number of occassions...it usually goes like this...

"Hun...its me...I forgot what you asked me to pick up for you...I remember the tooth paste and soda...but the rest is a blur...yes, I know...next time I will stop watching ESPN and pay better attention to what you are saying...oh...yes...I am by the bread...but they all look the same...which one do we normally get."
