Cellphones for soldiers

Hi! I was able to take this from www.cellphonesforsoldiers.com/ and I find it touching, anybody there willing to donate? They are now collecting ink cartridges and used phones to donate, they are always accepting that. Visit their site for more details.

TheCell Phones for Soldiers programwas started in April of 2004 by 13-year-old Brittany Bergquist and her 12-year-old brother Robbie of Norwell, Massachusetts. Their goal is to help our soldiers serving overseas call home. They hope to provide as many soldiers as possible with prepaid calling cards for now with an ultimate goal of providing banks of satellite phones, video phones and VOIP communications. Through generous donations and the recycling of used cell phones from drop-off sites across the country, they have already distributed thousands of calling cards to soldiers in Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan and elsewhere.

Wow, that's an excellent idea! These kids deserved to be rewarded and supported. The idea is very touching; I have relatives fighting overseas. I have many old phones and ink cartridges lying around and now I know what to do with them.

I think it's a great program but I haven't sent anything yet because there's a part of me that wonders if the phone calls from the battlefield that we've read about are such a good idea. I think that soldiers being able to phone home is great, but I'm torn about some of the calls reporting all sorts of things during a time of war and without regard to military policy.

I don't want to start anything unpleasant, but I can't help but say it's something I've thought about.

it's a great charity and I recommend it highly - don't worry, the boys and girls over there know what NOT to say and what TO say, so support the troops and do what you can!

That si an excellent idea. Too many people just toss their old phone in a drawer, its good they can be of use.

This will be great for some of the soldiers who want to keep in touch with the familes sometimes when they can. I know someone who this would be perfect for, to tell the truth.

That is an excellent idea, but I do wonder... why the cartridges? What are they used for?

This is a very touching and generous step. But I guess it might be somehow dangerous too as to when someone looses his phone and the phone gets into wrong/enemy hands.
