Phone virus

Has anybody's phone ever been infected? What precautions should you take and what is the cure if infected?

From what I know there has been the odd virus or two here and there but they're not harmful - they're designed to show a real virus attack may be feasible but there are certain technical reasons as to why in reality it is unlikely to happen.

If I am not mistaken, you are talking of phones which are usually used for GPRS/internet purposes coz as for us who don't use this feature much, we don't have a problem. Am I in the right track?

Yes, you need internet to be able to get a virus on your phone. Until cell phone internet use becomes extremely common I don't think there's anything to worry about, since virus unleashers would still be much more concerned about setting viruses loose on computers, where they can reach more people.

Until most phones will have the same browsing software, I don't think we will have a problem.

I swear, I'd love to smack all the hackers outside the head and ask if they have anything ELSE to do with their lives, ya know?

Oh, plus computers have much more valuable information. You phone doesn't potentially have your e-mails, work files, finance information, etc.
