What phone to get my little sister?

I have a sister who is dead-set on getting a cell phone. She's much younger than me, 13 going on 14, and her birthday's coming up. I think I'll get her a phone, but I'm wondering what would be the best for a young girl like her.

I am not sure what phone you should get her, but I would probably suggest a prepaid phone limit. Limits overuse and could save money in overage minutes, since kids in that age range don't usually pay the bill..

Yeah, give her a definite limit, where her phone won't work when she goes over it.

As for what phone to get her... something simple, which takes pictures since kids that age love pictures, and makes phone calls. That should be all you need. For what models are cool hang out around a store that sells cells and wait for a few young girls to go in and browse, then look at what phones they look at.

I guess, you should give her N90 or N91 if you have lots of money. Or if want to buy her a simple cell, get 6600.
Nokia Series is Fantastic

ooh... I'd check this one out with the parents first - depending on her marks and how her school deals with phones it may not be the best idea...

just a thought - no use getting her something cool that she can't take to school, right?

To be honest 6600 is the best option.
Cheap and long lasting and has all the features.
Well,

I would scond the pre-paid statement. Kids that age have no perception of how long they're talking and could run up a serious bill.

gotta go prepaid - whether she's paying the bill or her parents, no use helping her get a heck of a surprise at the end of the month!

Glad I found this thread. My daughter is turning 14 in June and wants either a cell phone or a digicam. I'm thinking a phone that takes pics would work, and she could email them to herself if she wants them on the computer. Which brings up another question...is it possible to d/l pics from a phone onto a computer or printer?

Get her a virgin mobile pre-paid phone. They seem to have the best rates for minutes without actually having to get a plan.
