Can my phone be fixed?

Ok my phone is not working because my 1 year old daughter drooled on it one too many times. You know how it is, you let them play with it to keep them entertained for a bit. Anyways, now its completely dead. It will not charge whatsoever. At the bottom of the phone where the charger would be put in is all corroded too, most likely from drool. I don't know if I should just try replacing the battery or will need a new phone all together. Either way she is not drooling on it anymore. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you taken it to a phone repair shop to see what they can do? I bet it would be worth buying a new phone alltogether. Preferably one which is waterproof aswell

It doesn't sound good. I know mine stopped working after I dropped it in water, so I assume drool would have the same reaction. You might want to invest in a new one. And, maybe buy a toy one for your daughter so she'll have her own to drool on.

Thanks for your replies, I haven't taken it into a store but I called the company on the phone, they said I could bring it in, but it sounded dead. My phone is no longer under warranty and I am sure to fix it would cost the price of a new phone. haha, waterproof one is a good idea. Someone should patent that idea. I guess I will be giving her the dead phone to play with.

Yeah it sounds as good as dead to me. There are some pretty good phones out there you can get for a decent price. So maybe its a good time to pick up a new phone. hehe, why can't kids play with their own toys?

Wow i didn't know drool had the power to corode. What do you feed your kid, or atleast, what does it drool? :P

Sounds like a lost cause but for some fun you could always open that baby up (the phone not yours) and try cleaning it out or something

haha yeah, drool is some pretty powerful stuff. haha what ever I feed her must be toxic. Seriously though, what would you suggest to clean it out? like rubbing alcohol or peroxide? I never even thought of that. Great Idea.

I would check out the thread about dropping your cell phone in water. You probably need to take it apart and clean it up and let it dry out! I sure hope you turned it off before you let her chew on it, I can't even imagine your long distance phone bill!! LOL

Is it a really tough phone you have? If you're going to give it to her to play with, just make sure she can't bit through it and have her swallow little bits of wire or microchip.

As for the condition of the phone, I'd get a new one. It sounds as though it's completely gone.

YOu can get fairly waterproof phones now although they are expensive - but it may be worth looking at if you are expecting more drooling incidents
