Very early cell phones Have you seen what cell phones looked like when they first came out? They were huge and awkward looking. I remember a relative having one of these when I was a kid. It was so awesome back then. Now it looks like something out of the stone age. Take a look at this picture: ![]()

Look at the size of that thing! I can't even imagine considering that portable. House phones are smaller than that. I wonder if way back then they could even imagine how small cell phones would be today.

Thats too funny Renee, I think my uncle still uses a phone like this. I know my cousins were laughing because he showed up at one of their weddings with this big phone. Reminds me of those old walkie talkies.

Thats even huge than a Land Line telephone. I guess what was it? a mobile phone or a atom bomb remote? Nowadays a computer fits in that sized! LOL I guess around 10-20 cell phone sized it is. anyways... it looks kinda cool

Oh wow, that is a HUGE phone. I suppose computers were quite big back then too. I mean as technology improves it seems everything gets smaller these days. Look at the cameras you can buy now that are the size of a credit card. I know I would have to buy a bigger purse to fit that in.

Ten year process huh? Obviously they were hung up (pun intended of course) on a packaging issue.

Thats hillarious. So that was considered mobile huh? The cellphone case must have been the size of a backpack. I'm glad they've gotten smaller since then.

Back in the day it was all Nokia "Bricks" here in the UK, they would just about fit in a bag let alone a pocket.

| Hmm, I think the phone in the pic is a bit longer than 10 years ago? That looks like something from "Saved By The Bell" days. 10 years ago phones like the 8110 were around.

Yeah its crazy to see how things change. We never assume that things will be as advanced as they are in the future. 50 years ago they thought a home computer in 2004 would take up an entire room..
